Heydar Aliyev International Airport This proposal for the renovation of the existing airport terminal in Baku was the runner-up in the design competition for the project. As a busy working airport, the existing control tower and primary structure needed to stay in place throughout the renovation. In response to the proposed new international terminal building, we draped the existing domestic terminal in a space frame like structure that worked with the existing triangular structural grid. The proposed system allowed for solar screening, openings, glazing and the required flexibility and modularity. |
Qatar National Convention Center As the architects of record for the 100,000sm (1,000,000 sf) convention center and performing arts venue, RSA Design Group provided comprehensive design and construction administration services for new national landmark building in Doha, designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki. A principal with RSA Design Group, Jonathan Disbrow spent much of 2009-2010 on site in Qatar during the construction administration phase of the project. |
